Sesame Street

My wife and I were killing time looking at YouTube videos last night and came across the following two videos from Sesame Street.

The first one splices together four individual animations, each lasting about 40 seconds, with underscoring composed by Philip Glass. The music sounds very much like excerpts from Einstein on the beach, but according to the Muppet Wiki, the music was newly composed for these animations. The episodes aired in 1979.

The second one features stop-motion animation of an orange singing Carmen's "L'amour est un enfant boheme." The underscoring to this, particularly the music before the aria proper starts, is quite interesting. (We happened across this looking for clips of Teeny Little Super Guy)
