Podcasts

Texas Tech University has been working on establishing a presence on iTunes University. I've contributed two podcasts to the endeavor and I intend to create more. The first podcast is a brief "what to expect in college music theory" with an overview of our placement test. It's designed for any prospective music student, regardless of where they plan to attend. The second podcast goes into detail about the Texas Tech music theory placement exam (which I'm trying to get into WebCT for ease of administration).

Here's how to get them:

0. You must have iTunes installed on your computer. Get it here (it's free). You don't need an iPod or similar device to listen to them; you can play them on your computer through iTunes.

1. Go to http://itunes.ttu.edu. Click on the big red "Texas Tech on iTunes U." button.

2. iTunes should open up. You'll probably get a message in your web browser that you can close the window--that's OK.

3. From the Texas Tech page on iTunes, click on the "Performing arts" folder (there's a picture of dancers next to it).

4. From the list at the bottom of the page, look for podcasts authored by Dr. Michael Berry (you can click on the "Author" column heading to sort by author's name).

5. Click on the "Get" button to download the podcasts. Note that these are once-and-done podcasts: there won't be any future episodes.

Please note that you must go through the link on itunes.ttu.edu to get to the page. You cannot simply search iTunes to find these (yet--they're working on it).

Enjoy! Any comments would be welcome.
