I am an orchestra director in the Puyallup School District. Previously, I taught music courses at the University of Washington (Seattle and Tacoma campuses) and Texas Tech University. My main area of interest is rap music, specifically how it can be used for anti-racist pedagogy and how and why rap lyrics are used in criminal trials. I have worked as an expert witness in trials involving rap lyrics, and I perform regularly as a classical double bassist in the Puget Sound region.
